Blackboard Access & Troubleshooting Instructions
Sign into Blackboard
- Go to . We recommend the Chrome or FireFox browsers. Do not use Internet Explorer, Safari, or Edge to access Blackboard.
- Sign in with your UA Rich Mountain email address and password.
First-time Blackboard Access:
When first signing into Blackboard you will receive a prompt for more information. To proceed you must register for self-service password reset.
- Click 鈥淣ext鈥 on the prompt for more information.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to set and verify your two password recovery methods.
- By default, you will be asked to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app as one of your recovery methods. If you do not want to use that app you can click the 鈥淚鈥檇 like to use a different method鈥 link to choose a different recovery method.
- Note: If you choose to set a recovery email it must be a personal email address not one provided to you by our institution.
- Click 鈥淒one鈥 and go back to Blackboard (). You should now be able to successfully sign in.
After this registration you can reset your UA Rich Mountain account password at any time by using the 鈥淔orgot my password鈥 link at

Troubleshooting Steps for Blackboard Sign on Errors:
- Go to and make sure you are not already signed in.
If you are signed in, sign out by clicking the circle icon in the top right-hand corner, 鈥淪ign Out鈥, and then the account to sign out of. Then try signing into Blackboard again. - Clear your browser's cache then try accessing Blackboard again.
You can find instructions on how to clear your browser cache by Googling 鈥淗ow to clear cache [Name of your web browser]鈥 (ex: How to clear cache Safari). - If using a Windows PC or laptop with Office 365 installed, press the Windows icon in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen then type 鈥淪ettings鈥. Open the Settings app. In the Settings app go to 鈥淎ccounts鈥 then 鈥淎ccess work or school鈥. If your UA Rich Mountain student account is listed on that page, click on it then select Remove. Now try accessing Blackboard again.
